The advertising for this over priced and under sized volume dares to suggest that these writings "... consider the challenges of navigating a fast changing society when the old rules are unenforceable and new ones have yet to be proposed." It was that intriguing notion that led me to purchase it. But it is nothing of the sort. The silly, rambling essays are taken from columns in "Town and Country" magazine and most are so badly written that their purpose cannot be determined. This is a disgrace.
This has always been a great book to leave in your luxury guest suite on the off-chance of reforming visiting pigs and/or uncivilized ruffians.
A great light read with some worthwhile thoughts.
