While short, this book is packed with great advice. I appreciated how it gathered well-tested (and recent, as of 2018) tips on everything from social media to media relations to community building all under one book. By going through the chapters, I was able to create a well structured to-do list for revamping my personal brand as a business. Of course, there is a lot of work involved, especially in building a community of followers in social media and real life. It takes a lot of personal engagement, as the author has stressed time and again, so don’t read the book thinking that knowledge is power. Knowledge is only power if you start working out with it. That being said, this is the one book you need. Nearly all the good tips I’ve seen elsewhere are here, plus more, and the opening chapters about clarifying your purpose is truly the most important part of any personal brand. Kudos to Mike Allebach for giving us the goods!

I purchased this book in hopes of getting some key nuggets on how to better utilize social media to build a brand. This book does, in theory, seem to have some good advice on that front. However, without being able to test it myself at this point I can not attest to it's effectiveness. With that said, as much as their was good information strewn throughout the book, there did seem to be a lot of filler that I felt needed to be sifted through. If you're looking to get yourself and your business into the lime light, I'd recommend giving this book a quick read.
