#174,240 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)

The only interesting item was the cover. The rest was someone pretending to write poetry. The material was poorly constructed, trivial and not interesting in anyway. Who makes decisions about what goes on sale with Amazon. That person must have overlooked evaluating the poetry and just allowed it to appear on Amazon.I know children who write better poetry. I buy all my kindle books and some hard cover and paperback books from kindle. I can't say anything good about the poetry. I would really like my money back. Pam Vorce

I had a real problem reviewing this collection from Vanessa Ngam. While I tried hard not to be unkind and to find something inspirational, amusing or even meaningful it was not easy. There was page after page of very simplistic statements of only three or four lines and one which took up about five or six pages. However, this “poem”, about wining and dining according to the title, consisted of seemingly endless lines of square symbols with the occasional punctuation mark: commas, speech marks etc. It was followed by a few rather puerile lines of English words (a limerick?) that either needed editing or were so “profound” that their depth was completely lost on this reader. Admittedly most limericks are puerile and only consist of five lines but most cause a wry smile at the least – but not here, unfortunately. Several haiku verses looked unfinished, not conforming to the convention of three lines of 5; 7; 5 syllables/metres. Two poems that had some appeal were “Two Wrongs Never Make a Right” and “The Sword” but the majority did nothing for me. Taking into account the subjectivity of poetry I was still left with my opinion: this book requires re-publishing after some serious re-thinking and editing. At what point does the profundity and enigma of art begin to resemble the “king’s new suit of clothes”?

I enjoyed reading the variations of poems within this collection. I've never understood Haiku. However, the way this writer presents it, I was very intrigued. And the limericks were very light and humorous. It was a delightful read. I had a few favorites from this book. One of the Haikus: "Awakening stars, Up listening, to the tireless engine." I loved this! The imagery alone just captivated me. The limerick about "The Sword" was very thought-provoking. A few of the pieces were in another language I did not understand. A great read.

There are a good number of poems to digest in this collection. I liked some. The haiku seemed a little off to me since many didn't follow the 5-7-5 syllabic format nor nature theme. The author's book, "Collection of Poems" that I read earlier this year, was one I enjoyed a little more than this one. Writing poetry isn't easy by any stretch of one's imagination; I appreciate the author's work.

Not my favorite book of poetry. A very quick read. I'm not sure these poems met the technical "requirements" of falling into the limericks and haiku categories. Though poetry itself is a lenient genre, I'm sure some of my English teachers would find these not up to their standards.*I won a copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. The review is my own, honest and unsolicited.

I really liked some of the poems in this book, such as the one labeled "31" and "Winter Storm." There were some that I felt like I was waiting for the next line, for the reason or purpose to the poem, and that sometimes never came. And that's okay! Poetry is entirely subjective, so what doesn't work for me might work for someone else. Overall, a quick read with some good poetry on various topics.

This is a cute little book that is very PG so it works out well for poetry lovers of all ages. If you are looking for something to read that isn't too time consuming or wish to introduce your young ones to poetry then I definately recommend this book. You will not be disappointed with content.

A short, easy read. These poems probably meet the technical requirements of for limericks and haiku categories. However, the content was not up to the standards of other books of poems I have read and enjoyed. I won an e-copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. The review is my own, honest and unsolicited.
