Kat Robinson is Arkansas's food historian and most enthusiastic road warrior. The Little Rock-based travel writer is the host of AETN's "Make Room For Pie; A Delicious Slice of The Natural State" and a committee member for the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. The author of Arkansas Food: The A to Z of Eating in The Natural State, Kat has also compiled the comprehensive travel guide for pie lovers, Another Slice of Arkansas Pie: A Guide to the Best Restaurants, Bakeries, Truck Stops and Food Trucks for Delectable Bites in The Natural State (2018). Her other books are Arkansas Pie: A Delicious Slice of the Natural State (2012), Classic Eateries of the Ozarks and Arkansas River Valley (2013), and Classic Eateries of the Arkansas Delta (2014). She is the Arkansas fellow to the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, and the 2011 Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism Henry Award winner for Media Support.Her work appears in regional and national publications including Food Network, Forbes Travel Guide, Serious Eats, AAA Magazines and AY Magazine, among others. I LOVED IT!!

"Another Slice of Arkansas Pie" will delight everyone interested in food, travel, or the American Roadside.The first thing that strikes you is the book's beauty. The cover is gorgeous and every photo is in mouth-watering color. But this is not just a book about food; it is also a social and cultural history of food and dining traditions. That history is portrayed through stories: personal, wonderful stories of people who helped build their communities through opening new restaurants, are struggling to maintain historic restaurants as vital community centers, created and gave new life to traditional recipes, and helped maintain dining and food traditions as essential community-building activities.If you enjoy food, travel, or roadside America, you will love this book regardless where you live; but if you are an Arkansan or planning to visit Arkansas, buy two copies, one for your home and one to keep in your car. Highly recommended.

Another interesting book by Ms. Robinson. She has several now. All dealing with food ( and stories) in the South. This one has some great background stories. I would add that shortly after I received my book, I was at a gas station in Arkansas and a older couple, with thick German accents, asked me for directions to a pie shop. I spotted a copy of the book in the front seat of their car. Made me smile.

I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of this book as a gift from a family member. It's simply lovely and full of local restaurants I've never visited and even types of pie I've never tried. It will serve as inspiration, I'm sure, on our weekend road trips around the state. I've seen Kat Robinson's Facebook posts shared by friends and now I'm following her to see what her next book will be.

What a great way to enhance a road trip! Last weekend we used the book to find a restaurant and some good pie on our way to Mississippi. We should all travel with this book in the car along with Kat’s other books about pie and eateries. Writing style makes enjoyable reading whether you’re traveling or not.

Love this book! Photos look great and feel like I have my roadmap set to go get some pie! Also can’t wait to try out some of the recipes!
